What Is HEMP?

Hemp and marijuana both come from the Cannabis Sativa plant, however, both are different due to the genetic makeup of the seeds that get planted. CBD comes from seeds that have high levels of CBD and low levels of THC, while marijuana comes from seeds that have high levels of THC and low levels of CBD. 

CBD cannot get you high. CBD is a non-psychoactive naturally occurring molecule and the trace levels of THC from the cannabis sativa plant get removed. All dr. pure products sold and distributed are natural, pesticide-free and highly vetted through third party testing to ensure 0 or less than 0.3% THC. The Federal guidelines and legal OTC limit is 0.3%.

Cannabidiol (CBD), is a naturally occurring molecule known as a phytocannabinoid that’s derived from the Cannabis Sativa plant. Scientist have identified that there are over 100 phytocannabinoids in this plant with one of the most abundant cannabinoids being (CBD).

CBD is a fully natural molecule that acts on the CB1 receptor, which is part of the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). ECS is a unique body network that helps to support and regulate the body’s immune system, appetite, mood, sleep  and various other systemic functions that maintain the balance of the bodies ecosystem. When CBD interacts with the ECS, it binds to key receptors on organs that trigger a positive response of balance in the bodies system.

Recently, the endocannabinoid system (ECS) has been recognized as an important modulatory system in the function of brain, endocrine, and immune tissues. It plays a vital role in the regulatory and secretion of hormones related to reproductive functions, in addition to the response to bodies inflammation marker. 

Inflammation is the body’s way of protecting itself from infection, illness, or injury. As part of the inflammatory response the body increases its production of white blood cells, immune cell  and substances called cytokines that help fight infection and or stressor to help the recovery process. A inflammation marker is an indicator there is a stressor or some form of inflammation response in the body.

Research suggests CBD may naturally reduce inflammation which could be a root cause of certain chronic pain and discomfort. CBD does impact the endocannabinoid receptors activity, which may help reduce inflammation by interacting with neurotransmitters.
